How you feel can affect your ability to carry out everyday activities, your relationships, and your overall mental health. How you react to your experiences and feelings can change over time. Emotional wellness is the ability to successfully handle

life’s stresses and adapt to change and difficult times. 


How can you improve your emotional health?


  1. Get enough sleep
  2. Exercise regularly
  3. Build a social support network
  4. Set priorities
  5. Show compassion for yourself


Schedule regular times for a relaxing activity that uses mindfulness/breathing exercises, like mindful walking, meditation, yoga, or tai chi. For an amazing, guided meditation practitioner for free, check out BoHo Beautiful on YouTube and try her 5–20-minute sessions every morning and night. The more you practice it daily, the greater the effect. 


Seek help like counseling if you feel you are unable to cope with your emotions and mental health on your own.


Mental health can be broken down further into three major components:


  1. cognitive health
  2. emotional health
  3. behavioral health.


Each of these components interacts with and influences others, and they are all imperative to overall well-being.
